About the Pattern

This design traces its origins to a silk fabric found in Josephine Bonaparte’s bed chamber, reimagined here as a distinctive wallpaper by Farrow & Ball.

Product Description

Bumble Bee has an unlikely origin: a silk fabric discovered in the bed chamber of Josephine Bonaparte. Farrow & Ball took that imperial reference and translated it into a wallpaper that is playful without being frivolous — a scattered repeat of bees and polka dots that carries genuine historical weight beneath its lightness of touch.

In Stirabout, the pattern is warm and grounding. This rich, oatmeal-toned neutral suits kitchens, living rooms, and hallways particularly well, and works naturally in American interiors with a traditional, country, or nature-inspired aesthetic. It pairs well with warm wood, aged brass, and deep forest green. The 20.9" roll width and 11-yard length suit standard US room dimensions, with a 6.3" straight repeat to factor into your order calculation.
