During the artwork creation of this design, the Morris & Co. studio referred to the original Morris watercolour drawings of Honeysuckle (from 1876). From there, the new artwork was created with fine ink, pencil and watercolour and the interpretation of the design kept soft and fluid with etched marks and undulating tone work.
